Deendayal Shodh Sansthan, Chitrakoot hit by floods Baljagat extends Rs 12 lakh aid for revival

Nagpur, August 31: Continuous heavy rains in Chitrakoot and Satna districts of Madhya Pradesh have caused the Mandakini river to swell, resulting in a severe flood situation along its banks. The Deendayal Shodh Sansthan at Chitrakoot, established by Bharat Ratna Nanaji Deshmukh, has been badly affected. The institute's Arogyadham, Panchavati, Dental Hospital, Siyarama Kutir, where Nanaji Deshmukh resided, Krishnadevi Vanvasi Balika Vidyalaya and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, among other facilities, have been inundated. The floods are reported to have caused losses of around Rs 3.5 crore to the institute.

Amid the crisis, Baljagat, Deendayal Shodh Sansthan, Laxminagar, Nagpur, has taken the initiative to support the revival of the affected premises by extending assistance of Rs 5 lakh. Senior advocate Adv Anand Parchure has contributed Rs 1 lakh, while Deendayal Shodh Sansthan Principal Secretary Nikhil Mundale and Vice-President Pankaj Mahajan have contributed Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh, respectively. Another Rs 5 lakh has been provided through the Centre for Indian Masses and Development Enterprises. With contributions from various sources, a total assistance of Rs 12 lakh has so far been extended for the flood-affected area.

Baljagat President Abhinandan Palasapure handed over the Rs 12 lakh cheque to Deendayal shodh Sansthan Principle Secretary Nikhil Mundale. Project Head Anuja Parchure, Vice-President Pankaj Mahajan, Secretary Sanjay Bhakare and members of the Baljagat family were present on the occasion.

The flood situation in Chitrakoot remains critical, and substantial assistance is required for restoration and revival of the affected premises. Baljagat President Abhinandan Palasapure appealed to citizens, organisations and philanthropists to come forward and extend their support to the flood-affected region.
